Every semester, we have to go site for our final individual project. For this semester, we were brought to Cameron Higland. We were to stay there for 3D2N and we all thought that it would be awesome to stay at a 3 star hotel there.

As part of the projects, we were required to do some site analysis before we can proceed to the next. The whole class was divided into either Sungai Palas group or Bharat group. Me and most of my teammates from Project 1 were allocated in Bharat Group and likewise, we were responsible to research on all the existing structure in Bharat Tea Plantation, which include their architectural style, the dimension, the materials they used, their foundations and also their histories. The lecturers left us at the site for half a day and by all means, we have to finish our data collection in the time given as we are not going back here again.

Together with my roommates, we measured the dimensions of the houses, sheds and the Bharat Tea House at top of the hill. While for those who cannot be measured, such as the tea factory which is prohibitted to the outsiders, what we did was just to estimate the dimensions with our foot steps and then convert them into standard readings.

PROJECT 2A - SITE ANALYSIS

After we finished the collection of data, we were allocated some time before we went back to our hotel. We spend our time together by having the local steamboat and visited their night market, which I found it was pretty awesome, to say the least. After the dinner, we went back and rest and of course, we did spend the rest of the night together by fooling around at our own balcony and playing card games in my room. Seriously, u cant even imagine when 15 over students squeeze into your room for just a card game. Well, the night is still young for all the archi students.

Since this project doesn't carry any marks, but it is somehow quite important for the coming projects, therefore only one tutorial was conducted. However, it's more than sufficient since most of the groups have included the main features that should be presented on the next day. During the presentation day for our own site, everything went pretty well except for the time management as we have exceeded the presentation time allocated by the lecturers.

From this project, I learnt that it's important to focus on the work that has allocated to us. Even the work sometime seems not as important as others, but it somehow connects other researches done by other groups, and each single details we analyse from the site are important to lead us either to a better or a worse steeping stone especially in carrying forward our projects.
